RUN NO. 2503 9 AUG 16

RUN NO. 2503
DATE: 9 AUG 2016
SITE: SPG 564 JLN SUBOK
HARES: Peachi Keen/Rush Hour/Over This
FRON HORN: Licker   BACK HORN: DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE

It was good to return and join the clucking hens gathered on a fine afternoon at the tent. We were told that there were two runs a short and a long and to look out for the sign. Who would go for anything other than long? They don't call me G.I. Jane for nothing.

The front horn blasted and sent us on our way across the muddy, open ground familiar to many, just not to me, last time I saw it there were trees on it.

Climbing up we headed into the jungle passing a small pool. Two days later, searching my memory, I have a clear recollection of bracken and steep uneven inclines. So good to be back.

4.6 kilometres and 53 flights of stairs later I headed back to the tent for a well deserved rest.  Thanks hares.  I have missed all this.

Smurf and Twinkletoes were in fine form at the Shout-up, Smurf had even dressed for the occasion with a specially selected Singapore National  Day T- shirt.  ( I do think the dress standard of the hash very different these days and noted the importance of colour coordination.  For further consultative advice see Pedigree Pup or Black Beauty.  Hornbill, you are on the way with your matching headgear and t-shirt.  Peer Pressure is so hard.)

A run report would be incomplete without mention of our First time guest from Brunei, brought by Rush Hour and sponsored by Ripper.  Edna, a new member, originally from Canada, is to be congratulated for starting as she means to go on and doing the LONG run.

I of course have returned and was very warmly welcomed.  (Who knows if that will be quite as warm after this weeks hash????).

I do wish I could be here for the Golden 60s Founders Day celebrations but will just have to view the photos and wish.Psycho blessed us with not one, but two jokes to round off the evening.  Go Pyscho. If you are feeling lonely Cheryl has a gorgeous dog which needs a loving home.

The run next week will be somewhere between 4 and 5 kilometres.  (What's a kilometre or more between friends.)  The On On will be at Lucky Gardens.  Thanks to Twinkletoes for again offering her house.

Hash thought, after enjoying a post hash restorative foot spa, totally unaffordable in the old country, perhaps this could be an alternative to the Hash potties awards.  Like Brexit perhaps we could have a referendum!

NEXT RUN: MENTERI WATERFALLS
