RUN NO. 2462 LUCKY GARDENS 27OCT2015

RUN NO. 2462
DATE: 27 OCT 2015
SITE: LUCKY GARDENS (HALLOWEEN RUN)
HARES: Pyscho, Miss Goody Two-shoes, Led Astray, Ripper, Pedigree Pup. Twinkletoes and Squeak

Some of the hares: Led Astray/Psycho & Ripper looking cool in their dress up.

The end of October and all the ghouls and ghosties were out to celebrate. The evening began with our own mortuary toe tags.  What fun swapping our demises.

The run had a hair-raising start, crossing the great divide between road and the there-after.  There was a swift climb on various colours of paper.  Something went wrong part way round and the paper vaporised into the atmosphere.  Not to worry, an excuse to head back for the evening's entertainment.

On arrival at the cemetery, hashers were greeted with tasty tidbits provided by the hares.  Strong smelling but interesting, who would have thought durian so versatile.
Guest trying Durian

Those present judgged the hash was judged fiendish with a tricky on-paper.

They did so much to put the "hallow" in halloween with their realistic gravestones, hanging corpses, mortuary toe tags. Black Beauty, an able assistant in producing a suitable atmosphere.  Itchy feet and Sam-I-am were the horns.

The night saw three first time guests but only one brave enough to remain for the shout up.  Well done, Rennie from the US, brought by "Downfacing dog".  Whoops a hash-it earned straight away.
Fifty runs award went to Hornbill.

Best dressed hashers were the recipients of pumpkin butter.  A few jealous hashers out there wishing it were them.

Food was magnificent. Thanks again to the hares and Rachel for the food.

A wad of notices were announced. All hash committee positions are now full. The St Andrews chieftains dinner is 12th November at Kotabatu Yacht Club.  Grateful thanks were passed to the Oktoberfest hares and JMs for Saturday's extravaganza.  A Craft Bazaar is coming up.   More information followed thick and fast but zombies move slow and it proved impossible to keep up with typing the information.  You had to be there to catch it all.

Jokes were invited. Squeak suggested the Halloween riddles that followed should be mummified
as all had  degenerated to Kid's Hash level.

A hash would not be a hash without the hash-it being given although whether Psycho should have been doused with cold water is debatable bearing in mind her health status.

NEXT RUN: DST (CANCER AWARENESS) - Pink Attire would suit.
HARES: TRAILBLAZER/GOODNIGHT KIWI/YOGI BEER with PEACHI KEEN/WONDERWOMAN/SUPER TROUPER/MGTS assisting in the FUNDRAISING

Cards to look for in the jungle.

There were slips and slides
There were ups and down
Either way it goes
The jungle is full of fun

Cards to pick up in exchange for gifts.

With vines that tear
And grass that cuts
Your skin will be raw
With bleeding and such

It was a lollypop
So I was told
Well isn’t that nice
Short stick, enough to hold

Back at the tent
Refused beer I did
For I was sickly
That nobody believed

A rainbow was connected
A hasher saying goodbye
A piƱata game to be had
Poor chicken got hit in the eye

Good food great company
OnOn Good Evening
Remember to dress up
For its Halloween

RUN NO. 2460 KM104.7 NCR 6OCT15

RUN NO. 2460
6 OCT 2015
SITE: KM104.7 NCR TOWARDS JERUDONG
HARES: JENNY FROM THE BLOCK/ALICE IN WONDERLAND
FRONT HORN: HASH HOUND  BACK HORN: NEVER WRONG

Hares

Well another Tuesday but a very different site, a new one for the Ladies hash. We set off early to beat the traffic and to ensure we arrived on time not being absolutely sure where the site was, but it was actually very well marked and easy to find, maybe not so easy to get off we thought !!
Trying to remember where the signs were positioned for later collection we headed in folowing H3 signs on to a muddy track towards the tent. Not many hens gathered compared to the recent high numbers but it is half term so we assume some are off enjoying themselves away from the abode.
Signed in and ready to go we were informed by the JM's that it was a short run and as we scanned the horizon it wasn't going to be a very jungly run either.

Paper was hunted down and front horn Hash Hound and back horn Never Wrong sounded us off back along the muddy track we had all driven down. A scramble over moonscape, plus very muddy patches found us at first check. Many were looking but it was still not found as we approached, so being ever intrepid Cheryl and I went off back checking and found the paper – onon paper pause

The trail went in to what would have once been trees and scrub but which was now blackened tree trunks and grasses desperately trying to reestablish themselves in the ashes of the previous fire by this time everyone was streaked with blackened ash marks on asses, legs, arms the lot as we found ourselves climbing probably the only hill around. Up and over to hear second check being called by Ready Mix, back to the right and back down to the open area to see the cars and tent but not directly back as we circled round on the muddy roads to reappear behind the tent.

Thank you ladies for a different site and gentle run, followed by excellent food.

The shout up as always even with reduced numbers was a lively and noisy affair, one guest – welcome, welcome, welcome.
Guest Diana

3 new members but one was missing – welcome, welcome, welcome and of course Dizzy was back so the hash-it was assured unfortunately for Dizzy she hadn't signed out but even more unfortunately she admitted to it and no one had noticed!!!! She wasn't alone as a hash teeshirt was missing from one of members (sorry didn't catch your name) and both got a serious drenching from the JM Twinkle Toes.
New members: Yanna & Geri
Great hashit for Dizzy & Ariadna

Resfreshment stop

I told myself this run I got to register it using this Sports Trackers apps, which I did. As it start to record, Hashers and I entered the run site from mid-section of Upper Diplo, following the trail downhill for nearly 1 5km where 1st checked were already been found. Then a much flat and nice run proceed and brought us to a much tricky 2nd back check which took us a complete U turn parallel back to where we begin but with a slight twist on to residential part of Lower Diplo housing on tar road, all the way uphill and back to short run in jungle again. While we thought we would travel back to site in jungle mode but we were back to tar road again (main Diplo road) same uphill which finally at 4.5++ km Hash Tent welcomed us back.
Fruits in the jungle

During the Shout Out
Hares & 1 first time guest were given down down. Announcement made, followed with an exciting 3 new hash handles named (Toni = Led Astray; Ally = Downward Dog & Kem=Butt What).

Some announcement were mentioned while Duchess of Cambridge offered to Hashers a pretty little kitten to keep.

No hashit was awarded even though Jms tried to target it on Rippers and sis. Finally I got to stand up to announce my own next week new run site (hoping no one would be lost before even the run begin) .. On On…

RUN NO. 2458 DIPLO 29SEP15

RUN NO. 2458
DATE: 29 SEP 2015
SITE: DIPLO - WAR OF ROSES
HARES: BLACK BEAUTY/ALISON/SAM I AM/PEEWEE
FRONT HORN: MRS PINGU     BACK HORN: TRAILBLAZER
Hares

All arrived feeling optimistic that our Diplo run had to be easier than last week’s 7 in 7 killer! And “all hail the Hares”, so it was. Coolish and picturesque, yet with some challenging hills, sharp jagged branches and slippery rocks just to keep us from enjoying it too much. Mrs Pingu and Trailblazer stepped up keep the herd together as front and back horns. Ta very much.
Hare explaining procedures

On arrival we suddenly found ourselves at WAR. No longer one happy chummy group we were divided into two dynasties – the Yorks (white roses) and Lancasters (red roses) – and were told by Alison that we were to ruthlessly search for roses for our teams along the way. Well, anything goes when you’re sweating in the jungle and driven by the lure of food and beer, so I was ready to push a few Yorks down a few hills to grab a red rose for my team! Bring it on….

Fast forward to about 45 minutes into the run and us back runners were feeling slightly downcast and losing our killer instincts. Where oh where were those roses? The fast bunch had obviously nabbed them all and gee it was getting dark. Whilst feeling our way through the blackness there was general agreement that even if there were some roses still lying about, we definitely wouldn’t see them.

So out we trudged, rose-less, but revived by instant refreshments at the On On. Then, unsettled yet again by flying darts! Apparently the idea was to throw the darts at a dartboard but not sure that was a good idea during all out WAR!!! Amazingly no-one was hurt so eventually a jolly time was had by all as we were pretty much forced to reunite very cosily under the tent to escape the rain. Huge congratulations to Black Beauty for her 300th run and big warm Hash Welcome to Tamara and Helen.

This was followed by a War of the Roses quiz where we should have known all the answers but where instead “No idea” and “God I’m hungry!” could be heard rippling through the stunned, clueless crowd. Sorry Hares, woeful performances all round. We did fare a little better in the ‘Guess the word’ game though!

And of course we all love a good Hashit drenching! And there were no less than 4 offenders: Never Wrong, Psycho, Yogi Beer and Ally for various hideous offences including TALKING during the speeches and (gasp!) bringing a MAN into our vicinity! Where’s Wally was positively gleeful at the chance to chuck the bucket this time! Next time boil them in oil please.
Nice photo! Mass Hashit..

And once all the points were counted who were the victors? Well, I’d just like to say we were all the victors in this brutal, senseless war – brought together by a great run, lovely people, excellent food ….
No actually it was RED! Ha Ha!! And we got prizes and White didn’t. So there.

On and on and on ….

NEXT RUN: DIPLO
