RUN NO. 2326 TUNGKU BEACH - 19 MAR 2013

RUN NO. 2326
DATE: 19 MAR 2013
SITE: TUNGKU BEACH - Easter run
HARES: POSSUM/NEVER WRONG

Word from Possum went around that the Army was on site when they laid the run in the morning. Also the tent people erected the tent in the wrong spot, but the Army was nice enough to help moving it and this all happened before the run even started. Lucky for us they left the area before we arrived.

As I arrived late from work, I received this report of the run from my co-hare Bini Hutan:
We started the run going through the wooded area near the beach, nice trails with white flowers growing on the side of the trail until we nearly reached the Empire Hotel. Then it went along the beach, climbing the stony wave breakers where we had to be careful not to slip. Along the way we even found a dead turtle. On the way back we saw a family at the beach trying their luck with fishing.

All in all it was a nice and flat run.

We enjoyed a really great sunset on the beach. Due to the school holidays it was only a small group of hens around.

The shout-up started with the usual down-down for the hares, Possum and Never Wrong.

We had one 1st time guest, Veronika from the Czech Republic, who is here until November and hopefully will join us again next week.

Great News, Pee Wee got married last week. Congratulations to you!!!

As this was the Easter Run, the hares gave out Raffle Tickets and the lucky winner gotten themselves some Easter goodies; chocolate Easter eggs were distributed to all the hens, too.
Hash wit gave away her best Easter jokes.

We had quite a few nominees for the Hashit, one of them being me. After much contemplation it was agreed for Rachel to keep it for another week.

Then it was Makan time!!! Delicious Chili Con Carne a la Possum was served with Baguette bread. Yummyyy! Thanks so much, Possum and Never Wrong!

RUN NO. 2325 MATA MATA - 12MAR2013

RUN NO. 2325
DATE: 12MAR 2013
SITE: MATA-MATA - ST PATRICKS RUN
HARES: STICKY RICE/SATU LAGI/CLOVER
FRONT HORN: MRS PINGU   BACK HORN: NEVER WRONG

It was a pleasant afternoon with no rain in sight and a gentle breeze. After a false start along the wrong paper we found the correct paper and discovered a few challenging climbs to begin with. The trail was quite long with a few water crossings but the water was clear and cool and there was not too much mud.Ikea found all checks. A very enjoyable run.

The hares gathered for the shout up all dressed in many shades of green to celebrate St Patricks Day. .
There were two first time guests.Urema from Macedonia and Moana from New Zealand.and both said they will be back.
Clover celebrated 150 runs and Sticky Rice celebrated 100 and treated us to some  Irish dancing.
It was a night for celebrations as there were March birthdays Ready Mix,Ursula and Wendy and also Psycho's wedding who's beautiful wedding album we were able to view.

We then played Irish bingo and some hens  given prizes for their tenuous links to the Emerald Isle.
Of course the hash entertainment had to be Irish jokes told well by Sticky Rice

Rachel  was given the hashit for not educating her first time guest in the proper drinking etiquette.

It was a fun and lively shout up even though quite a few were missing due to school holidays

The hares provided delicious soup and bread.

RUN NO. 2324 SALAMBIGAR LINK 5 MAR 2013

RUN NO. 2324
DATE: 5 MAR 2013
SITE: SALAMBIGAR LINK
HARES: GI JANE/SID

Last week. Oh my goodness I can’t even remember last night. Well it was at Mentiri pipes, but there were no pipes! And no Checks! And no paper! Are you sure you are talking about H3, Sticky Rice, and not some random Supasave trip, I hear you say? To be sure to be sure I am sure. No pipes, no checks and no paper but a jolly good romp in the jungle…ooer… tee hee hee….

Three runs had been laid by our lovely hares but since I ain’t doing three runs in one night just to write these words I will tell you about the long one. On pretty blue ribbons and paint, or was it yellow or pink? It meandered from the highway up, up, up and through and round and down again in super non snakey non crocodile jungly loveliness until we were out. Is that ok?

Then we all toodled round to GI Jane’s pad (not Rachel’s as Rozi was having a doo lally day on the words) and chowed down on “spot on” Vietnamese rolls that we made ourselves, generation game style, after an excellent demonstration by the lovely Mrs Nga.

Everyone got out. No-one got the hashit and that’s it. Happy St. Patrick’s Day xxxxx Sticky Rice.
