Twas the night before Wednesday, 
And all through the trees,
Ladies dashed as they hashed,
All praying for ease.

A bark rang out in the night,
And, brown, stout and squeamish,
Along came a short wee fellow,
Affectionately known as Beamish.

He’d escaped the tender clutches
Of his owner hare,
And had hotfooted it into the night,
Who knows where?

But the show must go on,
So shout-up begun,
With the typical slurs,
Joviality and fun.

A new member we gained,
A triathlete, no jest, 
She’ll make a good front-runner
And give Speedy Gonzales a rest!


The calls for hashit
Were for rule-breakers 3.
A bucket of ice-water thrown
With relish by Pee Wee.

And to top it all off,
Four were then named,
By the ladies in black.
(The JM’s are to be blamed!)

‘Hounds Mate’ and ‘Aladdins Dream’
For Wendy and Jeannie.
‘Nippon San’ and ‘Iron Woman”
Were given to Chi and Zoe.

Some prizes were given,
(I got a nice purple cup),
“On-on” was called,
Shout-up was wrapped up.

But the night wasn’t over,
There was food to be had,
And blue and green tins,
To help us feel glad …

That we are all part of 
The Brunei Ladies Hash,
A place for some exercise 
And one heck of a bash!

Next week, Kg Kapok Kanan,
The great hill of Serasa.
So “On-on” my friends,
Aren’t you glad you’re a hasher!
